I had almost forgotten about this photo but something made me think about it this past weekend. More about it in a few days (for those following me in Reader or coming regularly you will have seen it already as it was inadvertently published beginning of this week!)

This one is for SW. You don´t need a lot to take a shot, although admittedly you need quite a few apples for this one. 

Gerdanmenmarkt

This is THE square, maybe even more than Potsdamerplatz. And, believe me, you have to wake up pretty damn early if you want a shot like this without people (either that or go to bed after breakfast and a long long night).


I know it was just by chance, but I like the reflections on the floor and how only the statue´s head is lighted.

Schloss Charlottenburg

It´s also been a while from this photo. I guess these are the sort of touristy shots I would do if I would not live in Berlin.


Having said that, I have never been inside this Schloss.

Mauerstrasse

Just noticed this is also sort of another bridge. I need to consider starting a label with this topic!

Another bridge

Different scale, different river (if you can call this a river), actually even different continent as this was shot in Germany a couple of years back if I remember correctly during some holidays close to the czech border. 
Still a bridge though and, IMHO, actually quite a nice shot once the HDR works its magic to pump up the colours and the contrast.

Some wisdom

Not my words, but really worth reading. This blog is generally fed by posts scheduled well in advance, but there are exceptions and this is one of them.

From time to time I go through old photos and try to see them with new eyes (or new tools and/or knowledge), so that photos that had not been selected for the blog at the time now get their 15 seconds of fame.

Siguiendo con un comentario anterior, hay veces que para hacer una foto no es necesario rebuscar mucho ni muy lejos. En la mayoría de los casos basta con tener la cámara a mano.

Patios de Palma (vi)

Todas las fotos de los patios que han salido en esta miniserie han sido tomadas a través de las rejas. Lo mejore de estos patios es que no se trata de edificios oficiales, sino de casas comunes (más o menos) y que tienen detalles personales como las plantas, las bicis, carritos de bebé, etc. No se trata de postales. O al menos no de  decorados.

Otra cosa que llama la atención en estas callejuelas son los garajes, que en más de un caso parecen hechos a medida. Aunque creo que lo que está elegido a medida del garaje es el coche...

Lo que más me llamá la atención de este patio es el ascensor que se adivina a través de la puerta del fondo.

Paso de (la) Semana Santa

El paseo tuvo lugar en Viernes Santo y nos encontramos con un convento donde estaban preparando los pasos para la procesión. Se portaron genial y nos dejaron entrar a la carpa para ver las figuras de cerca mientras nos explicaban cuanto pesaban y como entrenan.

A mí esta foto me recuerda a la famosa de Iwo Jima.

Escaleras empinadas

No sé quien vive aquí, pero espero que no tenga prisa por las mañanas, porque la escalera se las trae.

Baños Árabes

La cantidad de turistas es directamente proporcional a la paciencia requerida para hacer una foto sin que salga ni uno de los que pululan alrededor. Lo maravilloso es que no salga ningún flash en la foto. "Vi" otra foto a través de la puerta pero tuve que desistir ante la cantidad de gente que había, ya que siempre aparecía alguien en medio. Por cierto, que pena no tener un gran angular para estas ocasiones.

Buscando los Baños Árabes

A veces es cuestión de suerte que la calle se vacíe de gente para poder hacer la foto. En este caso la dicha no fue completa porque justo cuando desaparecieron los últimos en una dirección , apareció una pareja que se dirigía a su casa. Pero al menos no eran turistas. Estas fotos son mucho más fáciles de hacer si tienes tiempo para esperar en vez de hacerlas según pasas a toda prisa. Quizás debería cambiarle el nombre al blog, en vez de Puntos Suspensivos se debería llamar Fotos Furtivas...

We spent one lazy week in Mallorca over Easter, enjoying the sun and being pampered by the staff at the hotel. One day we went for a walk in the neighbourhood around the cathedral  and I came back with a treasure of photos of the famous patios.

Además de la larga exposición aquí "ayudé" un poco con una linterna para dar un pelín más de luz. Esta foto me la imagino en un cartel de una película de miedo.
