I had been wanting to take one of these silky-water-effect photos for quite some time and I had the chance a couple of weeks back. I took this one during our holidays, on a rainy day on the Baltic Sea (they seem to have quite a few of these over there). I have no ND filters to reduce the amount of light further and get the silky effect on the water, so even at F36 and ISO 100 the exposure time was still two seconds. Luckily for me there was no wind at all and the sea looked pretty flat itself without photo tricks. The one unexpected factor was the movement of the sea bridge, which spoiled quite a few shots. But I have learned the trick and took more than one.

Mañana tengo que ir a recoger las fotos, ya que termina la exposición. Supongo que es hora de hacer más fotos...

A la cuadragésima va la vencida...

Most of my photos do not require a lot of preparation. This one above did not require a lot of preparation either. But getting the timing right and "learning" to drop the lemon into the flower vase so that it would present a good view, that took time. Actually, some 40 trials, give or take a few.

Los Angeles

Although only in transit, we had to go through inmigration and we were actually able to leave the airport terminal building. Unfortunately we only had a few hours available and I tried to catch up a bit with my sleep trying to readjust to my time zone.

Christchurch - NZ

I did not really get to see anything in NZ. On the day of arrival we tried to get close to the city center, but it was just not possible. While I was there, there was one small earthquake during the night. For a few seconds, the bed was moving and then, nothing. Lucky.

Korean Air - A380

OK, this photo is not particularly artistic, therefore no vignette, no frame, no signature. But travelling is not only being somewhere, it is also getting there...

Rainbow bridge

Although I did not know when I took the photo, I would cross this bridge about an hour later on the way to the airport.
