C-235
I have no clue what this C-235 of the Spanish Air Force was doing in Beirut. I saw it from the taxi as we were arriving to the terminal building and could not help taking a photo.

Cadillac (x2)
Close to the hotel, there was a meeting of (mostly) classic cars. They were amazingly well preserved and although it was getting late and light was not that great, I ran to the hotel for my camera. Funnily enough, a couple of days later we had a shuttle service to take us back to the airport, so we had just under two hours of enjoying this other Cadillac.

A380
We had a stopover in London Heathrow on the way to the States last week. While letting time pass by in Terminal 5 I spotted this Emirates A380 taxiing and could not help taking a few shots. Not shown in the pictures above, there was an A319 just behind, so the A380 looked even bigger by comparison.

Mercedes
The number of luxury cars in Beirut is simply stunning. You have them all and not necessarily in the posh areas of the city (I am assuming Hamra is not a posh part of Beirut). The one in the picture has probably seen better times.

Countdown
When I spotted this ad we had a discussion about whether it was true or not. And for that matter, whether the statement "Shop till you drop" was the right one taking into account what they are talking about. Maybe it is some sort of Lebanese black humour.
By the way, by the time this post goes out, I will be 8888km away from Beirut. Not sure yet if I will take my camera.

Beirut
Needless to say that not every building in Beirut looks like the one in the photo above. But it is impressive to find these sort of buildings (some of them inhabited!) in one of the quarters in downtown Beirut.

Holiday Inn
I was on business travel this week. Amongst all the work, I also had time to take a couple of pictures, so this blog will be a bit more lively for the next weeks.
Although I will mention in the next posts, does anybody know where this building is? There was a long civil war in this country, and the city still shows much of it on its buildings.
